Your Temple Cares -- Let's Help Each Other!
We are aware that many of TBT’s members have lost jobs, know members who are unemployed and/or are feeling very anxious during these economically challenging times. Here are a few things you can do to get help from (and give help to) the Temple Beth Torah community:
Join the "Temple Beth Torah, Upper Nyack, NY" LinkedIn Group
Volunteer to help one another
Reach out to Rabbi Beal and Cantor Neff for pastoral support

We know that one of the most important ways to find a job and relieve anxiety is by networking. In order to help our members help each other, we have created the Temple Beth Torah, Upper Nyack, NY LinkedIn group. A LinkedIn group is a private forum (open only to TBT members) to discuss topics that are of interest to the entire group. This includes engaging in online networking that can help lead to possible future employment. Here’s how you get LinkedIn:
- If you don't already have a free LinkedIn account, go to www.LinkedIn.com and create one.
- At the top of the home page, change the pull-down menu from Select People to Select Group and enter Temple Beth Torah. Then join the Temple Beth Torah, Upper Nyack, NY group (there is another Temple Beth Torah group from California so be careful to join the correct group). Once you submit a request to join, the group administrator will verify that you are part of Temple Beth Torah and accept your request.
- Then go back onto LinkedIn and share any information you would like within the Temple Beth Torah, Upper Nyack, NY group (job postings, help with resume writing, help writing resumes, etc) and keep checking back for responses.
- Be sure to send out LinkedIn invitations to friends, past and present colleagues, family members, neighbors and other TBT congregants to join your LinkedIn network, to help build additional important connections.

What’s truly extraordinary about LinkedIn is that, even if you don’t know that person, you may very well know someone who knows someone, etc. By working the LinkedIn network, thousands of possibilities can open up for you. With the vast power of the internet, you may just be able to find your way into a new future for yourself and for the people you love.

We are working on other initiatives for TBT members to help one another and invite those who wish to help in this effort and/or have a service they are willing to share to please contact Eric Fliegel at efliegel@mindspring.com.

Please remember that our clergy continues to provide pastoral support to our members. Rabbi Beal and Cantor Neff remain available to each of us, whether we are faced with added burdens from the economic downturn or any other personal needs.
