"Passion & Love Make TBT A Joy To All"
from Rivertown magazine.

"The decision to affiliate with a temple, therefore, is a decision to help assure the vitality of the Jewish people."

A reading in the Gates of Prayer, our prayer book, begins, "The synagogue is the sanctuary of Israel."  And, indeed, for nineteen hundred years, it has served as the central institution of the Jewish people, the place where Jews go for study, for prayer, and for other communal activities. We think it is safe to say that there would be no Jewish community without the synagogue. The decision to affiliate with a temple, therefore, is a decision to help assure the vitality of the Jewish people.

Your affiliation with Temple Beth Torah will bring you opportunities for celebration and learning that will be of personal value to you. The more you participate, the more you will benefit. We will certainly do all we can to make Temple Beth Torah a place that you will call "home" with a smile and a warm feeling.

We look forward to meeting you at any one of a number of Membership Committee sponsored programs given throughout the year... open houses, festival programs, art auctions, and more!

In our congregation, every member is important, and every member is "family."  Every Jew is welcome here, as are non-Jewish family members.  We teach, we learn, we help one another discover the beauties of Judaism in the context of a caring community.

We hope that you will share your special qualities with us, and add your uniqueness to our lives.

We hope you will share in the temple and the Judaism that is so important to us and the temple's members.

Welcome from TBT President, Eva Steen

Please call our Temple Administrator, Miranda Escobar, to schedule a tour or for a meeting with Rabbi Brian Beal or Director of Religious School, Juliet Barr. This year, why not come home to Temple Beth Torah for the holidays and beyond! We look forward to seeing you!

L’ Shalom,

Eva Steen, President

P.S. When my family and I joined TBT 17 years ago, I never imagined that I would be TBT President... I have gladly and enthusiastically stepped into the role of President of TBT, without reservations or hesitation.  Why?  Because Temple Beth Torah is unique and special...  Click here to read the full text of my remarks from a previous Rosh Hashana service.

Stern Academy for Jewish Education (SAJE)

Jewish education is an awesome responsibility!  The challenge is to teach a five thousand year old tradition that is both ancient and modern.

Through a carefully selected curriculum for the classroom and opportunities for enrichment and worship, we hope to accomplish this goal: to give our children a solid foundation in Judaism, a foundation that they can build upon throughout their lifetimes.

TBT's Religious School has something to offer ALL learners:
  • Bagels and Blox:  Ages 3 months to 3 years:  Children and parents join together monthly for a musical, interactive program that brings Judaism to our youngest learners.
  • Outstanding Nursery School for ages 3-4 and Kindergarten class for 5 year-olds prepare our youngest learners for life-long Jewish education in a joyful, musical setting.
  • Exciting, interactive educational programs for students in grades 1-6, combining Hebrew and Judaic topics in a nurturing setting, catering to the needs of EVERY child.
  • Vibrant Academy program for students in grades 7-10, designed especifically to keep our young people involved in Judaism.
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation classes are included in our school program.

Our goal is not only to educate, but to work together with families to ensure a lasting love of Judaism.
